RALT RT 3/83 ------ version 20230128

NEW: Adjusted power curve, redline 6500 Optimal/Auto shift point is 6350rpm.
Adjusted wings, front is now removable, top speed 240+
Miscellaneous
Second edit for today.
NEW: Adjusted Power curve, max power is around 5500 rpm, redline is 6500 rpm but the car will never reach that in any gear because of the restrictor like dropoff in power.
Depending on the gear, shift point is somewhere either side of 6000 rpm.

NEW: Default setup.

NEW: AI .ini YMMV

  3. Thank you for this model (it takes me back in time when I made my motor sport debut in this category and in that year, it would be nice to have other models from that championship.

  4. hello. tried the Ralt. So: the engine didn't get to 6,500 rpm so 'fast'. the shifting limit was at most 6.3 in core gears (1st and 2nd, but they had to be nice and short as well). Generally, one shifted between 5.8 and 6.0.

So the engine has too much acceleration. on the other hand it has no speed in high gears. At Monza it did a maximum of 235 wingtip exhausts. There, with the longest ratio and 0° exhausts (it went like this), so much so that at times you went even without a moustache in front, the maximum speed was 245

then it has a griosso bug in the sound. from the cockpit it can go, from the outside it sounds like a motorcar breaking down 😃 ... not at all realistic.

also from the outside the sound comes and goes

trim adjustment etc.... also here for example the camber section is wrong. it only goes up to -2 ... But it also goes to -3 on some tracks

the mod is nice but needs fixing

    1. I'll adjust the car to suit.
For the sound please use CM to change it, and let me know if you find a more suitable one.

    2. If you would like to, also post in your native language and a translation.
That way I can double check some words.

    3. Hello, thank you for your kind reply, being a former driver of that formula I can give you my opinions from time to time, then you will decide whether they are useful to you or ignore them, keep it up and you will surely come up with a good model.

    4. Hello, vintage racecar restorer here. Its an F3 car with a restricted motor, ~150mph might be a bit slow but not too far off the mark for a car of this era. If it was an RT4 Formula Atlantic or RT2 formula 2 car I would say that it could use more power, but as a restricted F3, I think it fits perfectly.

      Delete
    5. For instance, the RT4 formula atlantic is usually geared for 155mph at most tracks, and that car usually runs about 100hp more than the RT3 with a nearly identical curb weight and aero set up(the RT3 is basically just a baby RT4).

  5. If you can compain that much surely you can fix all that "bothers" you yourself

    dont be so ungratefull

    2. I don't see where I have expressed any ingratitude towards the author of the machine, I have only expressed an opinion as someone who knows the model. If you don't like it, move on.

    1. Use CM to generate a wireframe and an AO file.
Paint using these as a guide but don't save the AO layer as the material has the AO inbuilt.

CM Showroom>click to highlight the main skin>right panel click three dots next to desired texture>Calculate AO (in desired size) and view mapping likewise.

  10. Good morning again
I relied on an experienced ex-pilot to give your car a try https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco_Scapini.
And he wrote to me after your latest modifications
I have now tried the Ralt RT3. So: it is better than the previous ones, in any case the engine revs can still be pulled up to 6500 even if you go considerably slower than pulling at the right rpm which is 6000.
at monza on the straights with aerodynamics at 0° at the back and 1° at the front the revs are like this: 6,300 at the first chicane. 6.100 braking at the second chicane. 6,100 at Ascari and 6,200 at Parabolica. That's a bit too much.... although if you go and look at the speeds, those are right. I'd say you can leave it like that.
One thing: in the trim settings.... you have that the camber only goes down to -2°. In reality it also had settings down to -3°. but even that's a subtlety.... It's good enough to drive anyway

    1. Cool thanks for that, I may do minor tweaks but to hear it is good to go is great.

  15. Content Manager, CM, and Custom Shaders Patch, CSP, is ubiquitous.

  16. Sorry i am a bit useless with all this... What does that mean? I really would like to be able to use this mod

  17. Install 'Content Manager' from here https://acstuff.ru/app/
Go to settings and enable 'Custom Shaders Patch'

  18. Hi, want to make a few skins for this car, but every time i try to export the car skin ao, it has the senna livery in grayscale on it.. I believe this is bc the livery is a different texture than on the car skin itself? Any help would be appreciated.. Love the car!

    1. Hide the logos before generating the AO.
Use alt+H to hide meshes, sometimes its also needed to hide meshes that may interfere with the AO, such as inside objects which are often so close to the outside that it bleeds through the AO.
The logos have there own texture and you can use that,
but of course a lot may not fit on that mesh so painting the skin is probably better. In that case generate a transparent texture to make the logos invisible.
Remember not to burn the AO into the skin texture as the AO is in the material already.
